The past few weeks I’ve been thinking about “my career.” At 28 years old I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. Yes, it’s true. I have a bachelor’s degree and ample work experience, but still no clue about what it is that I should pour myself into. It’s cliché I know.

Yesterday I decided to pour myself into some career quizzes and personality tests that I found through Jobhuntersbible.com. I ended up at this site called Tickle, which is a social networking community for people who like to take tests. There are hundreds (probably thousands) of tests from what I’ve seen on Tickle.

The name Tickle is the worst name possible for this site though. I found myself squirming uncomfortably whenever I saw the brand name around the site, which caused me to remember how awkward is to be tickled by someone (something that hasn’t happened since I was a kid I can assure you). The word tickle and a site for people who want to branch out in their careers do not mix. It’s unfortunate.

Aside from the name cringing I took a couple of the tests. The IQ test and the Brain Test. Both of which were amusing. The IQ test brought back memories of taking the SAT. I was surprised at my perseverance however. I finished it and didn’t do too poorly although the scientific merit of the test is suspect. Now I want to take a real IQ test.

If you can get past the name of the site I’d recommend taking a few tests and quizzes just for fun. You can connect with others and even find friends of yours who are already on Tickle by entering in your email login credentials.

Oh and in case anyone cares, the IQ test I took revealed that I’m an Insightful Linguist, which means, “You are gifted with the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist. Those skills contribute to your creative and expressive mind.”

Perhaps there’s something to that definition that may lead me closer to a career path. It certainly feels true to what I know about myself.

Thanks for the time waster! Interesting results. They compared me to Bill Gates. Watch out Microsoft I am going to create the greatest computer-y/software-type stuff ever… Macrohard.
