Tuesday I took the bus from the U District to Queen Anne, which passed through Fremont.
Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a new storefront in Fremont where Sonic Boom Records used to be. Looks like Nau clothing is coming to Fremont. If you haven’t heard of this brand by now, check out their story here.
Probably one of the only “sustainable” clothing brands worth wearing at this point. I haven’t seen anything this fashionable from any other brand other than a few oganic cotton tees I’ve seen around the web.
If you have a favorite “green” clothing brand please share with the rest of us.
If you have purchased anything from Nau what do you think of the fit, quality, style? Is the price worth it?
Amy Martinez, business reporter from The Seattle Times writes:
“Nau, a Portland clothing company, will open a second Seattle-area store in late spring in Fremont as part of an aggressive expansion that calls for 10 new retail locations this year. Nau also plans to open in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Boston and Bethesda, Md. It already has a store at Bellevue Square.”

We are from Portland, and our family has a number of Nau clothing items. The whole family (aged 20-55) loves Nau design, quality, and the business model. 5% of every sale (NOT profits – sales) goes to a charitable cause of your own choosing. Great labor policies, and they’ve invented scores of new sustainable fabrics that they offer to other companies to use royalty/patent free. Amazing new way to do business. And the clothing is AWESOME! Check it out!
