Follow-up to the post originally dated 2/1/2008…

I heard back from Joel a couple days ago. They decided to go with a name from a designer they also had working on the project. Joel’s team was aggressively seeking the most appropriate name for their needs and had a few teams of people working on the quest.

I am thankful for the opportunity to be creative for someone else. I have too many ideas rolling around in my head to know what to do with.

If you didn’t know. I like tinkering with words to make sentences. I also am very interested in branding and I have done some naming work in the past. It’s fun, but difficult as I told Joel, “It’s like naming a child.”

Original Post:

I only chose that title because it rhymed not because I’m blaming anybody…well, I’m sure there’s somebody.

Last week an acquaintance of mine, Joel Flory, contacted me about working on a naming project for him. I was thrilled.

I just sent off the PDF list of names for his consideration. It took me an hour or two longer than I budgeted, but I don’t like delivering something until I’m satisfied with the results. Plus I like presentation and I don’t just want to drop the result of long hours of hard work into an email. It doesn’t honor the creativity.

Hopefully this will lead to other writing/naming projects. If one of my names is selected I’ll write a follow-up post about the name with permission from Joel.
