Ever since I read All the Pretty Horses back in 2003 I’ve read every book Cormac McCarthy has published after that and I’ve only read one of his older titles: Blood Meridian. I’ve become a fan through the process. There’s a quality in McCarthy’s novels that speaks to my soul.
So now I’m on the quest to get every McCarthy novel in a hardcover edition, preferably 1st edition. I know this is a lofty goal, but I don’t collect anything so I’m actually excited about the hunt.
If you’re reading this post and come across any hardcover editions please let me know. Here’s a list of McCarthy’s works to date:
The Orchard Keeper (1965)
Outer Dark (1968)
Child of God (1974)
Suttree (1979)
Blood Meridian, Or the Evening Redness in the West (1985)
All the Pretty Horses (1992)
The Crossing (1994)
Cities of the Plain (1998)
No Country for Old Men (2005)
The Stonemason: A Play in Five Acts (1994)
The Gardener’s Son: A Screenplay (1996)
I read on cinematical, which indicates that producer Nick Wechsler purchased the film rights to The Road. If that’s the case and this film makes it to the big screen I’ll be one of the first ones there.
Also, Cormac McCarthy, if you ever pass through Seattle I would like to interview you.
